Hurricane Harbor adding new water slides and more at Six Flags Great Adventure

Six Flags Great Adventure is making big waves at its Hurricane Harbor water park in Jackson for the upcoming 2023 season.

In what is being billed as the largest investment in the water park in more than two decades, Hurricane Harbor is adding seven new slides, an interactive kids’ play area, and more options for shade and dining.

“As one of the Northeast’s largest water parks, we are focused on increasing value for families and elevating the guest experience,” interim park president Randy Wilke said in a statement. “This significant investment brings state-of-the-art kids’ attractions geared towards children under 42 inches tall, plus park enhancements aimed at providing exciting new experiences for all ages.”

New additions unveiled Wednesday morning include Splash Island, a tree house-style play structure with mini-slides, curtain waterfalls and a giant water bucket for splashing guests. There will also be seven new slides for smaller guests: Cowabunga, the two-slide Jellyfish Twist, RipCurl, Shark Attack, Splashin’ Seal and Stingray Racer.

Families will also have the option to rend cabanas and oversized umbrellas for shade, and across a bridge from Splash Island will be an open-air dining area.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is set to open for the 2023 season on Saturday, May 20, following the Saturday, April 1, opening of the Six Flags Great Adventure theme park.
