Hurricane Olaf Brings Towering Waves and Strong Winds to Baja California
Parts of Mexico’s Baja California Sur were under a warning as Hurricane Olaf made landfall on the state’s southern coastline on Thursday, September 9.
Olaf made landfall “very near San Jose del Cabo” at around 9 pm local time, bringing estimated maximum sustained winds of 100 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The NHC also warned of “life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides” as Olaf traveled southwest on Friday.
