Hurricanes land Vanderbilt cornerback transfer Jadais Richard

The Miami Hurricanes added more talent to their cornerback room on Monday.

Former Vanderbilt cornerback Jadais Richard is transferring to Miami, he announced on social media.

Richard is entering his second season of college football after serving as a reserve cornerback for the Commodores last year. In his one season in the SEC, Richard played in 11 games and made one start. He had six tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and two pass breakups.

Richard, who is listed at 6 foot 2 and 197 pounds, graded out as a solid freshman cornerback, according to Pro Football Focus. The site gave Richard a 62.4 defensive grade and a 60.3 coverage grade.

Richard, a Louisiana native, signed with Vanderbilt in 2022. He was rated a four-star prospect and the No. 368 player in the 2022 class.

Richard is the fourth cornerback to transfer to UM this offseason, joining Davonte Brown (who transferred from UCF), Jaden Davis (Oklahoma) and Terry Roberts (Iowa).
