NYPD detective finds bullet holes in his car after driving through the Bronx on the Fourth of July

Two married NYPD detectives and their child unknowingly passed through gunfire — thinking they had just navigated past harmless Fourth of July fireworks, cops said.

The husband and wife, who were off-duty, were driving on Bronx Park East near the Bronx River Parkway about 10 p.m. when they passed people setting off fireworks Monday, cops said.

But on Tuesday morning, one of the detectives made the horrifying discovery of bullet holes in the driver’s side door of their car, cops said.

No one was injured and police have made no arrests.
