It's 'hybrid war': Polish PM visits Belarus border

Thousands had converged near the border on Monday (November 8), some of them using logs, spades, and other implements to try to break down a border fence, escalating a months-long crisis that has prompted calls for tighter Western sanctions on Minsk.

"We know that this is a fully planned operation which aims to disrupt the sovereignty of our country," the prime minister said. "That’s absolutely clear to us. We know for sure that there is a search of weak spots happening (on the border)."

"Lukashenko’s regime uses civilians as weapons of a hybrid war," he said.
