New Iberia native Natalie Kingston won outstanding cinematography for her work on the Apple TV+ miniseries "Black Bird" at the 75th Emmy Awards.

"What a complete out-of-body experience. I'm beyond honored and blown away," Kingston said in a Facebook post.

Kingston, 42, is a New Iberia Senior High School graduate who went on to study Mass Communication at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. According to ULL University News, Kingston says her Cajun roots shaped her work behind the camera, and one of her first productions was a documentary-style show for KDCG in Opelousas.

Kingston said "Black Bird," was her first TV show and was her hardest experience to date as a cinematographer, but the most rewarding.

In 2023, Hauser won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his work in the miniseries.

"I share this with my extraordinary NOLA crew," Kingston wrote on Facebook. "This is for all of y’all. we did it."
