Ice fishing portion of Battle on Bago called off, rest of event at Menominee Park will still go on

(WFRV) – One of the most popular ice fishing tournaments in northeast Wisconsin decided to cancel the ice fishing part of the event, but will still host the scheduled event at Menominee Park.

Battle on Bago posted on its Facebook page announcing that the event is still on, but they are proactively canceling the ice fishing part of the event. The cancellation comes as ice conditions are deteriorating.

However, the post says that the event at Menominee Park will still be going on for the two days of February 16 and February 17. Eventgoers will have the chance to buy discounted merchandise & raffle tickets, listen to live music and enjoy one of the largest fish fires in the area.

All of which will reportedly be under a heated tent! The post mentions that they will be giving away 300 total prizes valued at $200,000.

Some of the prizes include a Ford F150, Lund Boat, two $10,000 cash prizes, and prizes from sponsors.

Those who bought a fishing ticket for the event have the following options:

  • Mail ticket(s) in for a full refund to Battle on Bago Foundation PO Box 3965, Oshkosh Wisconsin, 54902

  • Exchange one fishing ticket for one fishing raffle ticket at the event tent on either day before 3:30 p.m.

  • Exchange one fishing ticket for ten general raffle tickets at the event tent on either day before 3:30 p.m.

You do not need to be present to win and you don’t have to be a fisherman. We encourage people to come up and still be a part of the on-shore activities and enjoy the great City of Oshkosh. Thank you for your understanding and let’s hope for some great ice in February of 2025. See you in a couple weeks.
