An ice maker sold at Amazon has been recalled. It can mix metal shards with your ice

About 8,800 countertop ice makers have been recalled because nobody wants broken pieces of metal in their ice.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said of the Gevi Household Countertop Nugget Ice Makers: “The metal blades of the auger of the ice maker can break, resulting in small pieces of metal going into the ice basket, posing a laceration hazard.”

And the CPSC recall notice says that distributor Far Success Trading Limited knows about the blades breaking and going into the ice basket 263 times.
