Ice rink for Fountains Winterfest

Ice skating in the South—what to do? Even when temperatures drop next week, our ponds won't freeze at 43 degrees. Thus the saying "build it and they will come" can apply to holiday magic.

Workers are busy constructing an ice rink for Fountains Winterfest, with the help of a huge system that keeps the frozen water between 10-15 degrees.

The outdoor facility opens Friday, Nov. 18, and will provide skates with an admission ticket.

The entertainment feature returns for its 6th season at Fountains at Gateway, 1500 Medical Center Parkway in Murfreesboro.
