Ice skating, Santa parades. Here’s where to find holiday fun in East Pierce County

The days are beginning to grow cold.

Yellow and orange leaves have made their way to the ground.

Mariah Carey’s song “All I want for Christmas is you” will hit radio stations.

It’s no secret the holiday season is here, and cities in East Pierce County are prepping for it. Here’s a list of festivities scheduled for December.

Puyallup’s Lighted Santa Parade, 5 p.m. Dec. 3

The parade will begin at the intersection of North Meridian and East Main Avenue and travel south. There will be marching bands and floats from community organizations. Santa Claus will be present. There’s no admission fee.

Holiday Magic at the Washington State Fairgrounds

Mini golf, an ice rink and a holiday market can be found 4:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 1-4, 8-11, 15-18 and 20-23 at 110 Ninth Ave. SW. in Puyallup. There will also be live animals and a laser light show. Early bird tickets range from $10-$20 and end Nov. 28. Regular tickets range between $12.50 to $25. Tickets can be purchased online at thefair.com/deals/holiday-magic-admission/ or onsite. Parking is free in the Green Lot.

Sumner Santa Parade, 3 p.m. Dec. 3

The parade travels along Main Street. There will be music, dancing, marching bands and vehicles decorated for the holidays. Santa Claus will be present. There’s no admission fee.

Bonney Lake Tree Lighting Festival, 6 p.m. Dec. 3

A tree will be lit near the Public Safety Building at 18421 Veterans Memorial Dr. E. The Bonney Lake Elementary School choir will sing. There’s no admission fee.

Home for the Holidays in Orting, 2 p.m. Dec. 3

There will be food vendors such as Sabrina’s Street Melts, Dawg Eat Dogs and Stacks Burgers downtown. Other vendors will also be selling items such as handmade gifts and toys. There’s no admission fee.

Milton Family Story Time

Holiday fun can be found at 3 p.m. Dec. 2, 9 and 16 at the Milton Activity Center at 1000 Laurel St. Fife High School students will help children create holiday crafts. A special guest will share holiday stories. There’s no admission fee.
