Elbert "Ickey" Woods, a Cincinnati Bengals running back for four seasons who starred for the team as a rookie during the 1988 season, was the Ruler of the Jungle for Saturday's National Football League playoff win in the AFC Wild Card Round against the Las Vegas Raiders at Paul Brown Stadium.

Woods rushed for 1,066 yards and 15 touchdowns - adding 199 receiving yards on 21 catches - in 1988, thrilling fans with his "Ickey Shuffle" dance each time he scored. He also scored three touchdowns during the 1988 playoffs - helping the Bengals to their most recent Super Bowl appearance against the San Francisco 49ers. He scored another rushing touchdown against the Houston Oilers on Jan. 6, 1991 - the last time the Bengals won a playoff game.

"He's still got one Shuffle left in him!" NBC play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico said of Woods during the broadcast.

Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah did an "Ickey Shuffle" to celebrate his first-quarter touchdown Saturday.

Woods still holds the Bengals' single-season record of 15 rushing touchdowns. Joe Mixon finished this past regular season with a career-best 13.

From the Bengals via Twitter:

Kay Adams, a co-host of NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" and the Bengals' "Ruler of the Jungle" for the Week 14 showdown against the Niners, previewed with Bengals radio voice Dan Hoard the team's first playoff game in six years, and encouraged Bengals fans to bring the same energy to Paul Brown Stadium that they brought when she visited last month.

Previous "Rulers of the Jungle" have included Bengals superfan James "JB" Brown, former Bengals greats Chad Johnson (aka Ochocinco) and Willie Anderson, and Edgewood High School grad Zach Apple, who won two gold medals in swimming in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
