Oct. 6—More than 100 works of psychedelic pop artist Peter Max are on display at CV Art and Frame, 110 S. Main St., Zionsville. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The show, called The Retrospective 1960 to 2021, includes a section of Max posters from the 1960s and '70s.

"We work with a company called Roadshow and they bring outstanding art exhibitions from world-renown artists," CV Gallery Director Rhonda Crawshaw said. "This is actually our third Peter Max exhibition. The first one, Peter was actually here."

CV Art and Frame Gallery owner Barbara Jennings said Max's art is the signature look of a specific time in history. She said Max became famous in the 1960s, but the work isn't dated.

"He came from a graphic design background where there were strong lines," she said. "Then you can see he's evolving to less graphic and more painterly."

She added that all of the pieces are for sale.

"Some start in the $3,000 (range) and it goes on up to — I think our top one is maybe $75,000," she said. "There's a pretty big range. What we feature here is all originals, except for this spot where we have his vintage poster from his personal collection."

Jennings added that the posters are signed by Max, who is 84.

Crawshaw said the gallery has also hosted a show showcasing original etchings of Salvador Dalí. CV Art and Frame also does custom framing. The work on display is available for purchase. Many of the posters are signed and dated by the artist.

There will be two in-gallery receptions for the Max exhibition from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 9 and 1-3 p.m. Oct 10. Admission is free but reservations are required.
