Icy Effects of Storm Seen Throughout Vermont Town

Sub-freezing air helped create what the National Weather Service termed a “unique storm” in Vermont on Sunday, January 12.

Reports of a “substantial winter storm” heading for Vermont came the day prior in local media. Sharing details of high accumulations of ice in the region to Twitter, the National Weather Service reported that the storm was departing the area on Sunday afternoon.

A flood warning was issued around the same time for the Coventry area near Barton River.

Vermont resident Armand Messier used a mixture of close-up photography and drone footage to showcase the unusual effects of the storm in St Albans Town, about an hour’s drive from Coventry.
