Update: Salem-Keizer schools closed for the day; other schools closed or delayed
Icy roads in the Willamette Valley have closed or delayed school starts in many areas. Several schools that initially reported plans for two-hour delays are now closing schools entirely for the day, including Salem-Keizer Public Schools and Silver Falls School District.
Here's the latest list:
Blanchet Catholic: 10 a.m. start.
Community Action Head Strat Marion/Polk: All classes canceled today.
Dallas School District: Two-hour start delay, a.m./p.m. buses on snow routes.
Crosshill Christian: School closed all day. Sports practices, games and Christmas program will continue as planned.
Snowy conditions:Hoodoo and Willamette Pass ski areas to open for season
North Santiam School District: All buses on snow routes.
OCDC Headstart: Silverton campus closed; Mulino classes begin at 11 a.m.; Settlemier classes delayed two hours; Concordia and Seymour centers have two-hour delay.
Queen of Peace Catholic School: Closed for the day.
Salem-Keizer Public Schools: All schools and the EDGE program are closed for the day "due to inclement weather and significant staff shortages," according to a district text. District offices will be open.
Silver Falls School District: All schools closed. All activities canceled.
Willamette ESD: Marion Center, ECC, WCA, Polk Center have two-hour delays.
Willamette Valley Christian: Two-hour delay. No before-school care.
