IDEA Edgemere earns certification for energy effiency
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — IDEA Edgemere has earned the Energy Star certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star, according to a press release from the charter school.
The press release says the certification recognizes “superior energy perfomance and commitment to sustainability.”
A celebration regarding this recognition was held on Friday morning, Feb. 9 at the IDEA Edgemere’s cafeteria.
“ENERGY STAR certification signifies the campus ranks in the top 25 percent of buildings nationwide in energy efficiency, considering factors such as occupancy, hours of operation, and other key metrics. ENERGY STAR is the only energy efficiency certification in the United States that is based on actual, verified energy performance,” the press release said.
