IDENTIFIED: Man killed in southwest Fresno shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man killed in a shooting in southwest Fresno earlier this week was identified by the Fresno Police Department on Friday.

Officers say the shooting took place on Lee Street and Lorena Avenue at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday following a ShotSpotter alert. They arrived to find the victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Taeshawn Johnson.

Investigators say the victim and the suspect were involved in a confrontation in the roadway immediately before the shooting.
