IDENTIFIED: Sanger boy hit, killed named

SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The 10-year-old boy who was hit and killed in Sanger has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner.

The coroner says Jameson Doyle of Sanger was the boy who was struck and killed Thursday evening.

Police say around 6:20 p.m. officers responded to Cherry Avenue, just east of Bethel Avenue for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian.

Investigators say when officers arrived at the scene, they found the boy who had been involved in a collision with a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Jameson was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to police.

Police say the truck driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with officials.

A preliminary investigation says alcohol did not contribute to this collision. The primary cause of the collision has yet to be determined, and the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
