Ferguson, who was not injured, was cited for failure to yield while turning.

Shiloh resident Greg O’Neil said he was driving south toward Columbia on Illinois 158 when he came upon the accident.

O’Neil used his cellphone to snap a photo of a large, white box truck positioned sideways across the highway with its cab in a ditch. The name “Enterprise” appeared on the door. The other vehicle, a red pickup truck, was off the road.

“It was bad,” O’Neil said.
