Igor Vovkovinskiy, Rochester's tallest adopted son, reportedly dies at 38

Aug. 22—Igor Vovkovinskiy, a longtime, notable resident of Rochester, has reportedly died at the age of 38, according to media reports.

The media reports attributed the information to a notification from the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. The Rochester Post Bulletin was unable to get immediate confirmation from the funeral home about Vovkovinskiy.

A native of Ukraine, Vovkovinskiy came to Rochester as a 7-year-old child for medical treatment. He eventually became known for his size as the tallest man in America, Vovkovinskiy stood at an outstanding 7 feet, 8 inches.
