Iguazu Falls roar once again as rain returns
Iguazu Falls roar again
The mighty waterfall lies on the border
between Brazil and Argentina
It was devastated by months of drought
and looked more like a trickle
(SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) COORDINATOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING AT GRUPO CATARATAS, WEMERSON AUGUSTO, SAYING:
"The drought that occurred in March and April 2020 was the most severe in recent years as shown in studies by COPEL, which monitors the Iguazu River. Now, at the end of May, we're seeing steady rain once again, and there is more rain in the forecast for the beginning of June which which will make Iguazu Falls beautiful again."
The group of 275 waterfalls
is one of South America’s tourist hotspots
and a World Heritage site
