- Alex Radulov, who led Russia in scoring at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, returned to the National Hockey League by signing a one-year contract on Friday with the Montreal Canadiens as free agency signings began. The star forward was considered among the world's best players not in the NHL. Radulov played 53 games with the Kontinental Hockey League's CSKA Moscow in 2015-16, leading his team with 23 goals and ranking second in the league with 42 assists and 65 points. Radulov hasn't played in the NHL in over four years and Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin admitted he was taking a chance. "I'm looking forward to seeing what happens, but at the end of the day it's still a gamble," Bergevin said.
