IHOP has 58 cent pancakes Tuesday for its anniversary after pausing deal in 2020 amid COVID

IHOP is bringing back its anniversary deal after pausing the promotion for a year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, customers can get a 58-cent short stack of buttermilk pancakes when dining in at participating locations nationwide.

The chain says the price of its special is a nod to its founding year of 1958 when brothers Al and Jerry Lapin established IHOP “after finding inspiration in the tropical tastes of coconut syrup and dreaming up the idea of a local restaurant centered around pancakes.”

The International House of Pancakes, which shortened its name to its initials years ago, says its first location opened in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

Earlier this year, IHOP canceled its National Pancake Day promotion amid the pandemic but didn’t nix the free pancake giveaway altogether. Instead, the chain flipped the annual one-day event into a monthlong promotion held in April.
