Ihor Abramovych, Ukrainian MP from pro-Russian OPZZh party, gives up his mandate
According to Arakhamia, it was Abramovych’s resignation from the OPZZh faction on the first day of Russia’s full-scale invasion that “laid the foundation for its further collapse in the Ukrainian parliament.”
“Therefore, I hope that his decision today to vacate his seat will also become an example for other OPZZh parliamentarians,” Arakhamia said.
He noted that Abramovych now has a pro-Ukrainian position, and he was never “associated with the ideology” of the pro-Russian party, while the Restoration of Ukraine parliamentary group, created by him, “consistently supports all legislative decisions important for the future of the country and repelling the aggressor.”

Arakhamia also called Abramovych “one of our own among the ranks of the fifth column.”
On Feb. 3, Arakhamia announced that another three members of the former OPZZh faction would be ejected from parliament in the near future. These are Oleg Voloshyn, Natalia Korolevska and her husband Yuriy Solod. They decided to give up their mandates as lawmakers.
Earlier, Ukraine’s parliament voted to deprive of their mandates several MPs from the former OPZZh faction, namely Viktor Medvedchuk, Taras Kozak, Renat Kuzmin, Andriy Derkach, and Vadym Rabinovych, as well as Ihor Vasylkovskyi from the Servant of the People faction.
On Feb. 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to a petition calling to deprive OPZZh lawmakers of their deputy’s seats. He asked the Verkhovna Rada’s leadership to draw up such a proposal for voting.
