IHSAA boys basketball top performers: Huge week for Mr. Basketball contender, records fall

Zayvion Baker, Terre Haute South: Baker had 14 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 64-59 loss to Bloomington South and went for 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals in an 80-73 win over Evansville Bosse.

KC Berry, Decatur Central: The 5-11 junior had a big game in a 69-61 win over Plainfield, scoring 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting with four assists and three rebounds. Berry was 2-for-5 from the 3-point line.

Dezmon Briscoe, Crispus Attucks: The 6-7 senior had 21 points and 10 rebounds in a 61-51 win over Cathedral in the City tournament championship and followed it with 21 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four blocked shots in a 66-52 win over Christel House Manual and 11 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots in a 62-39 loss to Ben Davis.

Markus Burton, Penn: The senior guard had another huge week with 44 points, seven steals and five assists in an 86-69 win over South Bend St. Joseph, then had 37 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 76-61 win over South Bend Riley and 30 points in an 80-41 win over Goshen.

A.J. Dunn, Yorktown: The 6-3 senior had 23 points and five assists in a 56-45 win over Winchester, then went for 21 points and six rebounds in a 60-53 loss to New Palestine and a big 33-point, 13-rebound game in a 67-60 win over Carroll (Flora). Dunn was 29-for-53 from the field in the three games.

Isaac Gayler, Fountain Central: The 6-5 junior had a career-high 27 points and 11 rebounds in a 62-36 win over Faith Christian.

Jalen Haralson, Fishers: The 6-6 sophomore returned from missing nearly three full games with a finger injury to lead the Tigers to a 53-40 win over Franklin Central with 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Parker Hehman, Brownstown Central: The junior set a school record for 3-pointers in a single game when he shot 12-for-16 from the arc and scored 36 points in an 84-53 victory over Corydon Central.

Cooper Horn, Columbus North: The senior went for 28 points in a 51-44 loss to Southport and went over 1,000 career points in the game.

Will Jamison, Homestead: Jamison had 27 points, six assists and four rebounds on 11-for-17 shooting in a 66-48 win over Fort Wayne Northrop.

Jordan Lomax, Avon: The junior guard had 23 points, including 9-for-10 shooting from the free-throw line, in a 59-56 win over Westfield. In a 61-56 loss to Center Grove, Lomax had 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.

Julien Smith, Mt. Vernon: The freshman guard had 22 points, six rebounds and four steals in a 75-70 loss to Connersville and went for 15 points, four rebounds and two steals in a 50-36 win at Delta.

Rob Sorensen, Guerin Catholic: The 6-foot junior had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 62-46 win over Liberty Christian, then had 22 points and seven rebounds in a 60-54 win over Lafayette Central Catholic. He had 14 points and seven rebounds in 51-46 overtime win over Noblesville. He was 9-for-21 from the 3-point line in the three games.

Caleb Washington, Floyd Central: The 6-5 senior had 29 points in a 68-56 win over Seymour.

Josh Williams, Connersville: The 6-4 senior scored 29 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the 3-point line and had seven rebounds and five assists in a 75-70 win over Mt. Vernon. Williams had 17 points and five rebounds in a 51-38 loss to Jennings County.
