Here’s a snapshot of five positions open across the state, including ones in the metro-east.

Library Technical Assistant

Agency: Department of Human Services

Salary: $3,579 to $5,144 per month

Location: Chester

The application deadline is unspecified, but the job was listed May 24.

Here are the library technical assistant job responsibilities, from the listing:

  • Performs complex nonprofessional clerical tasks specific to the operation, maintenance and provision of patients and staff library services, including the maintenance of various book collections.

  • Maintains and monitors detailed circulation control system(s) for patient and professional staff libraries, including reserves, renewals, overdue materials, damaged library materials, etc.

  • Provides technical support for retirement workshops, utilizing meeting software (such as Webex) to ensure smooth execution of agency workshops and retirement training sessions in house and online.

Location: Must reside in Madison, St. Clair, Jersey, Macoupin, Montgomery, Bond or Clinton County. Remote work and travel is involved.

  • Travels within the region to conduct disease investigations and perform sample collection for foreign animal, emerging and program disease.

  • Assist in the maintenance of disease program and identification databases to advance animal disease traceability throughout Illinois.

  • Travels within the region to perform inspections on auction markets, rendering plants and trucks, livestock dealers, and other animal health licensees.

  • Travels within the region to conduct initial pullorum typhoid testing on flocks enrolling in the National Poultry Improvement Plan. Conducts avian influenza testing on NPIP member flocks for certification and for surveillance purposes.

  • Travels within an assigned region to assist animal and animal product investigators on inspections or investigations when further veterinary evaluation is necessary.

Health Facilities Surveyor II, Option 3

Agency: Department of Public Health

Salary: $5,246 to $7,827 per month

Location: Fairview Heights

  • Travels to conduct difficult, highly complex and sensitive on‐site nutrition surveys of hospitals and nursing homes to assure compliance with the Nursing Home Care Act, Title XIX and XVIII of the Social Security Act.

  • Plans, coordinates and administers the new surveyor training and existing surveyor standardization programs for the region.

  • Reviews and evaluates surveys and investigation reports of lower level nutritionists for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable directives, policies and guidelines.

  • One year of experience as a health facilities surveyor.

  • Possession of a valid Illinois certificate as a registered dietitian and knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, supplemented by a master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or food service management and one year of professional experience in nutrition, dietetics or food service management; preferably requires registration by the American Dietetic Association.

Agency: Department of Human Services

Salary: $7,882 to $10,222
