Illinois man killed in two-vehicle crash on US 20 near Freeport

An Illinois man was identified the victim of a deadly crash in Stephenson County.

Illinois State Police said Peter Boden, 57, of Hanover, Illinois, died Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, Boden was driving in the eastbound lane of U.S. 20 in Erin Township in Stephenson County around 12 p.m. when his vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head on with another vehicle.

Boden was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 48-year-old man from Orland Park, Illinois, refused medical attention at the scene.

No further information was released by police on Thursday.
