This weekend you can shop for homeschool resources, celebrate Pride month and hear music under the stars.

Here are 10 things to do in the Freeport area:

Niche’s Annual Sale

What: Shop from more than 50 sellers at the Stateline's largest annual homeschool resources sale. Find used prices on excellent conditioned textbooks, teacher and supplemental resources, readers, games, microscopes and more. Bring shopping bags or rolling totes. Only cash or checks accepted. Nursing infants remaining in front/back carriers are welcome. No children younger than 12 and no strollers or car seat carriers allowed.

When: 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday

Exploring 610

What: Byron, Stillman Valley and Davis Junction are teaming up for a weekend full of events, including garage sales, an electronic recycling day, farmer's markets, Byronfest and more.

When: Different events being held Thursday through Sunday

Healthy Kids Day 2023

What: The Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois and FHN host outside event with family-friendly activities from local nonprofits.

Freeport Pride Picnic

What: Celebrate LGBTQ Pride at a picnic hosted by St. John United Church of Christ and community partners. Enjoy food and activities for all ages and learn about local LGBTQ-friendly organizations.

When: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday

Touch A Truck/Vendor Show

What: Touch A Truck/Vendor show will include superhero activities, Spiderman, Mr. Twister and Princess Belle pictures, food trucks and a snow cone truck. Any donations given will go to the Epilepsy Foundation.

What: Music will be located on the second floor. Southern born, Northern raised, Dylan Doyle has been steeped in everything from Bob Dylan, Wes Montgomery and Bill Withers to John Prine, Jimi Hendrix and The Band.

Pork Chop Drive-thru

What: Harbach's boneless, seasoned pork chop, cheesy hashbrowns, green beans, roll and home baked pie. Enter from Pleasant Street, place order, pull forward, and your meal(s) will be brought to your car to enjoy at home or at the park.

Music under the Stars with the Freeport Concert Band

What: Music Under the Stars is an outdoor band concert featuring a variety of music and covering many different genres and composers. This week's concert is conducted by George Espino and features vocalist Olivia Mikulay and drum soloist Scott Stich.

Lola Blu

What: Lola Blu is an up-and-coming country/rock singer/songwriter from Rockford. She covers everything from Colter Wall and Sierra Ferrell to Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert to Weezer and Fleetwood Mac and everything in between, plus originals.
