Illinois woman, 7 others injured when boat runs aground, hits house at Lake of the Ozarks

Eight people were injured, including an Illinois woman, when a boat ran aground and struck a residence at Lake of the Ozarks late Saturday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The vessel then overturned, ejecting everyone on board, according to an incident report.

The accident happened around 11:55 p.m. at the 1.3-mile mark of the Osage Arm, the main channel of the lake, the report states.

Six of the passengers were seriously injured. Two others suffered moderate injuries, including Roxy Soukup, 23, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, who was a passenger on the boat, the report states. All the others on board were from Mississippi, Michigan and California, including the 27-year-old driver of the boat, the report states.

The injured were taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri.
