What did you miss?

In his I'm A Celebrity exit interview, Fred Sirieix has detailed the reason why he fell out with Josie Gibson over her cooking in the jungle camp.

The trained chef was so riled after then-camp leader Nella Rose - who was voted out second - made the This Morning presenter the camp cook. Watching her cook filled the First Dates with worry as he compared her cooking to a "horror movie from the eighties" and the stuff of nightmares".

What, how and why?

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly grilled Sirieix over why Gibson cooking irritated him. He defended his opinion on Gibson's cooking as he told them: "She's just making it up as she goes along. So I think there's a lot at stake with the food. And it's not just what you're cooking at the moment which of course is going to be good, because the produce is incredible, it is what you can do the next day with the leftovers of the bones."

He further explained that in the jungle: "You really need the calories, and you've got to find them whenever you can. I think we missed out on quite a few meals." Admittedly Sirieix was relieved when Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard took over as head chef and his assistant was Sam Thompson.

The First Dates star was already put at ease because Nick Pickard had done well on MasterChef. Revealing why he liked how they cooked, he said: "The kitchen was run professionally, everything was cleaned, cooked in the right order. No need to get involved."

Social media was awash with stars who were accusing the star of being "sexist". Among the comments, one wrote: "So why doesn’t Fred have an issue with nick and sam cooking? It’s giving sexist hahaha."

"Is Fred coming across as quite sexist to anybody else?" Others said. "So Fred is ok with Sam & Nick cooking despite Sam being in a flap during the duration Vs Josie who doesn't make a single mistake but gets criticised. Fred is coming across as sexist."

What else happened in the I'm A Celebrity exit interview?

Sirieix struck up an unlikely friendship with Nigel Farage in the jungle, with the pair doing camp duties together. He lifted the lid on why he found he quite liked the former politician. "Nigel is a doer we can work together collect wood and water together," he said.

However, they also had some of the most explosive rows in the camp especially over Brexit. Sirieix said that his opinions on Brexit were not impacted by Farage's strong views. He added: "There is a side of Nigel Farage I can't connect with and will never connect with."

It comes after Nella Rose was the second star voted out of camp, following on from Frankie Dettori who was the first to be evicted by the public. Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears both left the show early on medical grounds.
