I'm a Celebrity's Fleur East has opened up about teaming with Britain's Got Talent star Ashley Banjo for a brand-new game show from the makers of The Cube.

Speaking about the outing, which is officially titled The Void, during an appearance on The One Show recently, the former X Factor contestant explained that each episode is set to put its competitors through a string of mental and physical challenges.

"It's like a hybrid between Total Wipeout and Gladiators, like fused together," East told hosts Rylan Clark-Neal and Alex Jones, before noting that those taking part will basically have to try and travel from one platform to another over a 500-ton pool.

"Me and Ashley Banjo, who's an amazing co-host by the way... absolutely love him... we're just watching… watching it all unfold. It is hilarious when they fall in the water. It's so funny."

The seven-part series is expected to premiere during the summer on ITV, and will reportedly air on Saturday evenings. The champion of each episode will get to take on The Void for one last time in an effort to win a jackpot of £25,000.

"I literally cannot wait to get started on this one! The concept is so simple... Can you cross 'The Void' and reach the prize on the other side?" Banjo said in a statement just a few days ago. "But if the brains behind The Cube have anything to do with it – which they do, of course – it will be anything but simple.

"There's no doubt in my mind this is going to be immense!"

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
