'I'm your dad now!' Little boy finds out stepdad has adopted him

A stepdad in Elk Grove, California, couldn't wait to share exciting adoption news with his toddler — so much so, that the man jumped into a pool with a leg injury just to deliver the words firsthand.

Chris Overton, who just had surgery after a broken femur, had been waiting several years to complete the adoption process for his stepson, Jameson.

When he saw the little boy floating around in the pool, Chris headed straight in and told him: "I'm your dad now."
