The 2021 Saratoga Race Course meet closed Monday, with Luis Saez winning the jockey title. Mechanicville native Chad Brown won his fourth Spa training title. Gunite shook off a little bit of a slow start and won the Hopeful by 5 3/4 lengths on closing day of the 153rd Saratoga Race Course season.

The all-sources handle total was a record-setting $815,508,063. Average daily all-sources handle was $20,387,702, bolstered by $51,381,515 on Travers Day alone, of which $9,406,526 was bet on-track. Total paid admission in 2021 was 1,046,478 for a daily average of 26,162. Not counting 2020, when fans weren't allowed at the track because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the total paid admission has exceeded 1 million for six straight seasons.
