'Immensely Colorful': Aurora Borealis Lights Up Alaskan Sky

Thin veils of aurora borealis pulled off a spectacular light show in Central, Alaska, on September 7.

Spencer Dant traveled to Twelvemile Summit and filmed a video that shows the northern lights.

“This was an immensely colorful, fast-moving show with two intense substorms," Dant wrote in a Twitter post that featured the video.

According to NASA, auroras were the most visible sign of magnetospheric substorms that occurred in the Earth’s magnetosphere. Credit: Spencer Dant via Storyful
