IMPD investigating homicides on east, west sides

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating shootings that left two men dead and a third person injured.

A man ho was found shot at about 3 a.m. in the 6300 block of W. 34th St., was later pronounced dead after being sent to a hospital, according to an IMPD news The apparent cause of death of was the gunshot wound but no other information was immediately available.

The man killed was identified as Luis Medina-Hernandez, 30, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

Another man was found dead from an apparent gunshot at Shoreland Drive and East 21st Street at 8 p.m. Saturday night, IMPD said. He was identified as La Juandric Furqan, 21, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.

A third shooting victim was discovered at 3031 E. 10th St. just before midnight. That victim was alive but their condition was unavailable, according to a police notification.
