Imported meats company construction plan approved for near Vineland industrial park

VINELAND — Imported meat distributor Relema Inc. will move onto one of the West Garden Road properties the city acquired in recent years to supplement its adjacent industrial park.

City planners on Wednesday night unanimously approved a two-phase development plan from Relema, which intends to start with construction of 68,394 square feet of building.

The company also received preliminary approval for its phase two goal, expanding the facility to a total of 137,892 square feet.

Stefano Tedesco, a company representative, testified before the Planning Board that the facility will accept cured meats from European sources.

“So, we slice and repackage them, Tedesco said. “Then, we distribute nationwide.”
