After finding success with its meatless burgers, Impossible Foods is experimenting with sausage. The sausage still uses heme, a protein found in plants, which is what Impossible says is the key to making the burger "bleed" Impossible's chief science officer told Engadget that "the ingredients are very, very similar, but the ratios are different...in ways that make pretty profound differences." The company is looking to expand beyond only producing vegan burgers and has partnered with Little Caesars pizza to test the sausage product.
