The Coshocton County boy hoped to receive 1,000 cards for his ninth birthday on Dec. 12. He easily surpassed that number. As of Thursday, he hads received more than 20,000, according to his father, Roman. On Wednesday, he got a garbage bag full.

"He is totally overjoyed with it," his father said of the cards and presents. "He is overwhelmed, but very overjoyed. He's very happy about it."

Andrew has not gotten through all of the cards yet, but he enjoys reading them. "It's just a joy to him," Roman said.

Andrew, who is one of six children, has been battling two types of cancer for little more than a year now. He had adult B Cell Lymphoma in his stomach and a brain tumor. Roman said he was told by doctors that there is no cure for the brain tumor.

According to his father, doctors did surgery on the tumor and Andrew underwent 33 treatments of radiation. The lymphoma went into remission, but the brain tumor came back. It is all through his brain. Roman said there is nothing doctors can do.
