The incredible shrinking rapper: Nicky Jam out here in Miami looking like a male model

Nicky Jam is looking very GQ these days.

The reggaeton star showed off a noticeably much slimmer frame last Friday night at the Marni X Curio pop-up at Faena Bazaar in Miami Beach.

Ozempic? Nah.

Jam just revealed to People magazine that he underwent gastric bypass surgery about six months ago and lost roughly 110 pounds. Though scanning the music star’s Instagram timeline, he never looked that heavy. Like ever. Way back in 2021 he was showing off his six pack for the ‘gram. But maybe Mr. Jam has been trapped in the neverending yo-yo cycle when it comes to his weight.

“The reality is I’ve been fighting with my weight my whole life because this is an industry where you have to be in shape, you have to do movies, you have to do videos,” Jam told the outlet.

The 42 year old added he was convinced to go under the knife after a friend of his had success with the common bariatric procedure, which basically decreases the size of the stomach so that the patient eats less, but feels full.

The Puerto Rico raised Massachusetts native knows maintenance is involved and surgery is not a quick fix by any stretch.

“You have to prepare yourself mentally for what’s coming, and it’s not easy. People say this is the easy way — they’re wrong,” said the “El Amante” singer, who plays basketball to stay fit.

Perhaps the best thing that’s come out of the surgery is that he doesn’t have food on the brain all the time anymore.

“I used to wake up and I just wanted to eat,” Jam admitted. “Now I take my time and I eat whenever I want. I feel better. I feel happy. I feel healthy.”
