India seeds sold out of Florida via Amazon, Walmart and eBay could be deadly, FDA says

Todorganic recalled its Nuez de la India Seeds after FDA testing said the seeds appear to be yellow oleander.

“All parts of the yellow oleander plant are known to contain cardiac glycosides that are highly toxic to humans and animals,” the Todorganic-written, FDA-posted recall notice said. “Ingestion of yellow oleander can cause neurologic, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular adverse health effects that may be severe, or even fatal. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, abdominal pain, cardiac changes, dysrhythmia, and more.”

The company based in Middleburg, Florida, a part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area, recalled all of the seeds sold online via Amazon, Walmart and eBay in 2-ounce bags.
