Indian Officials Screen Passengers Arriving in Delhi From Wuhan for Coronavirus

A few hundred Indian and Maldivian nationals arrived in Delhi from Wuhan, China, on February 2, and were screened for the new coronavirus on the tarmac, according to reports.

The Ministry of Health of India said 300 of the passengers were sent to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force’s camp in Chawla and the other 30 were sent to the Manesar camp, both located in metro Delhi, to be monitored.

Two confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported in Kerala, according to the Ministry of Health, which said the patients were “clinically stable.”

Chinese state media said 361 people had died as a result of the virus by Sunday, with a further 17,205 confirmed cases. Authorities in the Philippines said they had recorded the first death from the virus outside of China on Sunday, according to the AP.
