Indiana basketball tries to avoid a hangover from its upset victory over No. 4 Purdue when Michigan visits.

IU (14-4, 5-3 Big Ten) earned its biggest victory in years on Thursday night, toppling the Boilermakers 68-65. Rob Phinisee had his best game as a Hoosier, getting a lot of help from Xavier Johnson as Trayce Jackson-Davis was saddled with foul trouble.

Michigan (8-7, 2-3) entered the season as a national contender but COVID-19 issues have interrupted it. This week's win over Maryland was the Wolverines' first in a month (three losses and three postponements). Hunter Dickinson leads Michigan in scoring (16.4), rebounding (8.6) and blocked shots (1.0). Eli Brooks (12.1 points) has 25 3-pointers.

The Hoosiers have lost seven straight to the Wolverines. In their lone meeting last season, Michigan won 73-57 in Bloomington behind Franz Wagner (21 points) and Isaiah Livers (16, 10 rebounds). IU's most recent win over Michigan came around the same time as its most recent win over Purdue (before this week, of course).
