Cathedral is the pick to win the City in boys basketball by a preseason vote of the coaches in the City alliance.

Cathedral, coming off an 18-3 season, returns several of its top players, including seniors Tayshawn Comer (Eastern Kentucky) and Jaxon Edwards (Murray State) and highly-recruited junior Xavier Booker. The Irish are the defending City tournament champion.

In the coaches preseason vote, Tech is slotted second, followed by Crispus Attucks, Tindley and Heritage Christian. Attucks won the City two years ago, then lost to Cathedral in the championship game last year.
