Greyson Betts made his debut at quarterback a winning one as the Grizzly Cubs (4-2, 2-2) snapped a two-game losing skid by upsetting the Class 4A No. 3 Pioneers (5-1, 3-1) in a Mid-State Conference road contest that shook up the league’s standings. Betts hit all eight of his pass attempts, including two for touchdowns, as Franklin scored once in each quarter to knock off Mooresville.

Through one half, quarterback Ty Owens had the Class 3A Bruins (4-2, 3-1) in position to continue a march toward a Sagamore Conference title, throwing two touchdown passes to Noah Lien, and driving toward a third score deep in Lebanon (4-2, 3-1) territory.
