Indiana high school girls basketball rankings: Zionsville cracks IBCA top 10

Franklin, Fishers and Zionsville all moved up in the latest Indiana Basketball Coaches Association poll.

Franklin, which won its first Johnson County title since 1986 over the weekend, and Fishers, which bested Westfield on Thursday, both moved up two spots to Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Zionsville also jumped two spots to No. 9 following wins over Carmel and Avon.

Crown Point, South Bend Washington, Noblesville and Bedford North Lawrence were ranked 1-4, while Homestead dropped to No. 7 and North Central fell to No. 8.

Mishawaka Marian rounded out the top 10.

One is headed to UConn. The other is wanted by the Huskies (and others). How it shook out.

The IBCA poll is a "non-class" poll, with the top-20 teams ranked regardless of classification. The voting body consists of one voter from each of the 16 regionals, three at-large voters (one each from IHSAA districts 1-3) and the committee chair, Northridge's Doug Springer.

Here is this week's poll. Teams are listed with 1st-place votes in parentheses, followed by points, record and previous ranking.
