The first wave of artists set to perform on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage at this year's Indiana State Fair has been revealed, and it includes a wide variety of musical styles capped off by the appearance of a living legend.

Country singer Clint Black will open this year's series on July 28. The first six announced acts also include new jack swing star Keith Sweat and 86-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and eight-time Grammy winner Buddy Guy, who will bring his farewell tour to the Free Stage in August.

The concert series will run daily from July 28-Aug. 20 except for Mondays and Tuesdays, when the fair will be closed. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

More: New Indiana State Fair policy requires youth under 18 to be chaperoned after 6 p.m.

As always, entry to the performances is free with fair admission on a first-come, first-served basis until the venue fills up. Fair admission will be $11 this year, up from $10 last year, with kids younger than 5 free. All shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Some reserved viewing area tickets will soon go on sale through the indianastatefair.com, organizers said in a news release.
