Several Indiana University men's soccer alums are playing professionally in Major League Soccer this season. Here's an overview look at how some of them have fared in playing time and production so far.

Celentano making a quick impact

2021 alum Roman Celentano was selected by FC Cincinnati at No. 2 overall in the MLS SuperDraft in January. Celentano was thrust into first-team action in April after an injury to Alec Kann, and he came up with a few impressive performances.

He picked up an MLS team of the week honor in mid-May after clean sheets against Toronto FC and Minnesota United FC. He's likely to remain the backup goalkeeper in the Queen City when Kann recovers, but Celentano certainly flashed some capability in his opportunity.

Maher getting looks, Gutman out

2019 alum Jack Maher has been a regular in Nashville SC's starting XI this season.

The defender subbed on in four of the team's early games this season, but has started all but one of Nashville's games since the beginning of April. And he routinely plays the full 90 minutes. He recorded an assist against Atlanta United on May 21.

Meanwhile, Andrew Gutman suffered a quad injury in late May and is out for several more weeks recovering. The Atlanta United defender was a regular starter up until his injury. He has two assists on the season so far.

In San Jose, Tommy Thompson has been a frequent substitute for the Earthquakes. He's started the team's last three games, but came in off the bench for much of the team's schedule before that. He scored a goal in one of those sub appearances in April. Drew Moor has also subbed on in defense during most Colorado Rapids games this season, often late in the contest.

Inconsistent time for Bruin, Rennicks

MLS veteran and 2011 alum Will Bruin has mostly come off the bench this season for the Seattle Sounders.

The forward has one goal on the year, scored in March. But his substitute appearances have often been low in minutes, leaving him little time to get on the scoresheet. Bruin has started five games in total, but didn't play the full 90 minutes in any of those games. He's played 45 minutes or more only five times this season.

Justin Rennicks has one goal to his name this season for the New England Revolution. He's floated in and out of the starting lineup, and when he isn't starting, his substitute appearances are often low in minutes. And when he's started, he's only played the full game once, in a U.S. Open Cup match in late May that went to extra time.
