Burger deals are coming your way.

Indianapolis Burger Week returns this month, offering $7 gourmet burgers at area restaurants.

The June 20-26 promotion allows diners to choose from an array of gourmet burgers at local restaurants for a deeply discounted price. Restaurants, in theory, get more foot traffic in the door and a boost in sales from any sides or drinks customers order to accompany the burgers.

Produced by Euclid Media Group, a Cleveland-based company that owns alternative weeklies in Cincinnati, Detroit, Orlando and other cities, it began as part of a series of burger week market promotions across the United States.

According to the organization, participants include:

  • Barbecue & Bourbon on Main

  • Brother's Bar & Grill - Broad Ripple

  • Brother's Bar & Grill - Downtown Indianapolis

  • Buffalo Wild Wings

  • Drake’s

  • Ellison Brewing

  • Oasis Diner

  • LouVino - Fishers

  • LouVino - Mass Ave.

  • HopCat

  • Macaron Bar (Burger Macaron)

This year, the promotion will add a burger week app available for download starting June 10 in Google Play and the App Store that will allow users to check into four or more restaurants for a chance to win prizes.

Euclid Media stepped in to fill a void left when alternative publication Nuvo ceased production of a similar long-time burger week, during which dozens of restaurants sold burgers for $5 each. Its Nuvo Indy Burger Week was last produced in 2018.

The revival of sorts was met with resistance from Indianapolis restaurant operators when it was first scheduled in 2020. Restaurateurs complained about high participation fees and being encouraged to sell discounted food in the throes of the coronavirus pandemic.

The $6 price point didn’t cover the cost of the burger, and there was no guarantee customers would order enough extras to make up the difference, they said.

Euclid Media canceled the 2020 promotion but went forth with the plans in 2021.

This year sees the burgers a buck more than they were during the same event last June.
