An Indianapolis man has been charged with murder in the Oct. 31 shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend's mother following an argument over Facebook posts and $100.

Antonio Lowery, 19, was charged with murder after police found Deanna Sibley, 44, of Indianapolis, dead near 46th Street and Arlington Avenue around 3:45 a.m. nearly two weeks ago, charges filed in Marion County Court show.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Lowery and his girlfriend, Sibley's daughter, had been arguing "off and on" throughout the day about a series of Facebook posts. After becoming "extremely upset" and leaving, Lowery eventually met his girlfriend and her mother at an apartment they were moving into.

Lowery and his girlfriend, who is seven and a half months pregnant with Lowery's child, continued to argue outside the apartment.

The girlfriend told officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department that Sibley asked Lowery to "just leave and go home," but Lowery demanded approximately $100 for helping the pair move into the apartment, according to the affidavit.

"(The woman) and Lowery continued to argue, and, as she was turning to walk away, she heard shots being fired," the affidavit says, noting Sibley yelled "No, no, Tony" before telling her daughter to run.

"As (the woman) was running, she continued to hear shots being fired," the affidavit says. "She stated she kept running and hiding behind vehicles. She stated she eventually ran over to red pickup truck and hid underneath it. (She) stated she heard her mother yell, 'No! No! No!' followed by several more shots."

The woman, who was on the phone with Lowery's own mother during the incident, identified Lowery as the person who shot her mother, and police arrested him at a different location sometime after 5 a.m.

In an interview with police, Lowery "confessed to shooting Sibley" and confirmed his girlfriend's account of the incident. He told police he suspected his girlfriend "was doing stuff behind his back," adding that she made "several Facebook posts which upset him."

Lowery told police "things went left" after the argument over the $100. He said he "got mad for no reason," and "I just got to shooting," according to the affidavit. He said he fired his .40 caliber handgun until it was empty.

Police recovered multiple .40 caliber shell casings from the scene, and an autopsy revealed Sibley had been shot 15 times.

Lowery, who lives on the south side, is being held in Marion County Jail.
