Indianapolis parking availability among the worst in the U.S., report says

Parking’s not great in Indianapolis.

It’s one of the worst United States cities to park in, according to car subscription company FINN.  The Germany-based company analyzed car parking prices, the number of EV charging options and the number of wheelchair-accessible parking spaces to determine the U.S. cities with the best parking availability.

Only three other U.S. cities had worse parking availability than Indianapolis.

The study gave Indianapolis a car parking score of 1.58 out of 10.

The cheapest monthly cost for parking in the city is $75. “However, with no options for EV charging or wheelchair accessibility, the city is let down,” the study said.

San Diego took the top spot with a score of 0.66 out of 10. The cheapest monthly cost of parking there is $200, and it also has a lack of amenities at the parking lots in the city, including EV charging and wheelchair accessibility.

Fort Worth, Texas, and Long Beach, California, each scored 1.27 to tie for second place.

Baltimore, Chicago, and Washington ranked first, second and third, respectively, for best parking availability, according to the report.
