Indio police: 3 family members stabbed; one dead. Suspect arrested

A 34-year-old Indio man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a relative on Saturday evening, according to the Indio Police Department.

Around 6:48 p.m., Indio Police responded to a family disturbance at a home on the 82900 block of Via Venecia.

Officers found three male victims with stab wounds. All three were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. One of the victims died at the hospital, the second victim was in critical but stable condition on Sunday, and the third victim was in stable condition, police said. The victims and the suspect are family members, according to Indio police, and had a dispute prior to the stabbing.

The identity of the dead man has not been released by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.

The suspect, Anthony William Piña-German of Indio, fled the scene before the officers arrived. Officers found Piña-German on Sunday in El Centro and arrested him without incident. He was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio on one charge of murder and two charges of attempted murder.
